Hello everyone – Thank you very much for your patience. We’re excited to share our 2026 Abermain Eisteddfod Solos Program.
Over 1200 performances – just wow! What a treat the spectators are in for!
We’re very excited to host some very big sections for some genres – these can seem to be quite daunting for performers at first glance, but rather than split sections, our theory is for everyone to experience the hype and excitement of performing alongside others at all different stages of their journey.
The last few years have been a regrowth period for the Eisteddfod, continuing the amazing work of past committees to ensure the financial sustainability, continued growth, and longevity of this record-breaking Eisteddfod from the little ole township of Abermain, established back in 1917. Each and every one of you has played, and continues to play, a major part in that, along with the countless families and local businesses we have reached out to for financial support. 100% not-for-profit, led by a dedicated committee of volunteers across all aspects of the Eisteddfod, and along with you, we truly are a community that supports community.
Ok, that all being said. Let’s get down to business!
- Doors will open for performers each day at 7:15 am for a nice and bright 8:00 am start.
- We’ll share a ticket link shortly to pre-purchase spectator tickets, or you can buy them on the day at the Box Office. Performers do not need a ticket. We have kept the same affordable rates as last year, with a bonus this year: if you purchase a day pass, the second day (consecutive) is complimentary.
- There are ample change areas. In this regard, please use the change tents or bathrooms provided. Please keep visitation to the change area to a minimum. Parents/carers/teachers are allowed, but please no extended family members.
- Performers may enter only via the rear entry to the PACC. Please sign in at the back desk. All other visitors should enter via the side/front doors of the PACC.
- We have provided your music upload link. Please ensure music is uploaded by Tuesday 29th September 2026.
- In line with Eisteddfod traditions, adjudicator papers will be ready for collection (at the front desk) shortly after the section adjudication, so you can get feedback right then and there to implement in your next performance.
- JRD Media will be onsite for all photography and videography needs. Strictly no personal videoing or photography in the theatre or change rooms.
- Adjudicator’s Encouragement and Adjudicator’s Choice awards will be announced at the completion of the age group championships (6U, 8U,10U,12U,14,15/O, 21/O, encompassing the odd ages as well). ‘Baby Take a Bow’ will be awarded to our Most Promising 7U Competitor.
- The Overall Major Awards will be announced as follows:
JUNIOR (5-12): Thursday evening after 12U Championships (Note: it will be late)
SENIOR (13-21): Saturday afternoon following 15-21/O Championships.
Highest Scoring Soloist, Abermain Sportsmanship, Most Potential Tapper (Junior), Most Outstanding Tapper (Senior), Most Potential Ballet, Most Potential Jazz, Most Memorable Costume, Most Outstanding Choreography, AES Scholarships, Tap Scholarships & Heart and Soul.
If you are unable to attend, the award will be put aside for you to pick up when convenient.
- Canteen facilities will be provided each day – all proceeds go towards making 2027 even better than this one!
- Please, no food or prams are allowed in the theatre itself.
- For the younger ones, or the younger ones at heart, we’ll have an AES-inspired colouring-in competition open to everyone, as we all know these days can be long. Sheets can be obtained from the front desk/foyer area; throw some pencils in or use the ones provided. Open to spectators and family members, not just performers.
FINALLY, on our last night of competition (Saturday 10th), we will be hosting the SPIRT OF THE COALFIELDS CUP – celebrating Passion, Artistry & Showmanship. Some of you may know of it, as we did a ‘soft launch’ last year with amazing success. This is in honour of some very special people who have paved the way throughout the industry and inspired so many: Merle Pullar, Tessa Maunder, Ted Miller, Diane Talbot and Les Griffiths. In essence, we want to ensure their legacy lives on.

This is a separate ticketed event (just $ 20 pp) starting at 6:30/7:00 pm.
Judged by a panel of prominent community personnel – competitors compete for $1000 cash!
The night will also feature invited soloists, a vocal performance, and a snapshot of some of our magnificent award-winning 2026 Troupes.
